We collaborate with faculty to help support your students in passing the VTNE with a variety of FREE resources. Request copies of our Top 150 Drugs Booklet or arrange for us to host a webinar just for you school below.

The Most Comprehensive Study Program

CleverOrcaVT is the most comprehensive study program designed to serve both students and faculty. Students use a combination of digital and printed materials to build and follow an effective study plan, stay on track, and feel confident going into the VTNE®. The program has been designed in a flexible, yet structured format and incorporates science-backed learning techniques to help concepts stick. Our various formats support diverse learning styles while providing the structure and critical knowledge necessary to pass and reduce overwhelm leading up to the exam.

Faculty can monitor students’ progress and scores, while accessing reports and user details that help identify if your students are on track or where they may need additional support.

Many of our school partners attribute their success to our unique combination of online resources and printed review materials included in the VIP Package, sharing that this format is a game-changer for their pass rates and helps students excel further.

Measure Metrics, Measure Progress

Educational infographic titled “How Does It Work?” outlining a three-step VTNE exam preparation process with a highlighted 97% success rate. Step 1 shows a pre-assessment and planning phase, where students evaluate their current knowledge and create a personalized study plan using digital tools and printable planners. Step 2 illustrates the core study phase, including study guides, practice questions, a full review textbook, and a Top 150 Drugs booklet, displayed across phones, tablets, and books to emphasize multi-format learning. Step 3 focuses on readiness and evaluation through mock exams and post-assessments, ending with a green “Passed” stamp to represent exam success. A note indicates free extensions available upon request, and branding at the bottom explains that CleverOrcaVT provides a complete VTNE prep journey combining content, practice, planning, and ongoing support to help students pass confidently on their first attempt.

Step 1:
Students complete a pre-assessment at the start of the program to get a baseline score across the 10 domains. Using this data, they build a study plan (with support from our study guide) to commit to completing the program chapters and quizzes.

Step 2: Students use the program materials and resources to study and complete their quizzes based on their study plan.

Step 3: Once all chapters and quizzes are complete, students will complete the post-assessment, which will validate increased progress and identify any areas that should be revisited across the 10 domains, compared to when they started the program. If scores show they are ready, students tackle the mock exam to confirm readiness to write the real VTNE®.

Monitor Student Progress, Engage Students, and Assess Readiness for the VTNE®

CleverOrcaVT offers a range of different review materials that support students’ learning, retention, and critical thinking.

Faculty can access reports that detail how well student users are doing across each domain and their scores across all chapter quizzes.

Through our faculty dashboard, visuals and downloadable reports help identify if students are on track with their chapter learning, the time spent on each chapter, and show their latest quiz scores. Faculty can also easily identify if students need extra support in specific domains based on the individual or group scores.

Faculty can choose how to utilize the program best to support their students. Some school partners embed our program directly into their curriculum, assigning chapters and quizzes each week, referencing materials in class, doing quizzes as trivia during class, and setting up live simulated mock exams for students to experience and practice.

See how our reports work in action below.

Dashboard view of a training matrix used to track learner progress across multiple VTNE-related courses. Rows list individual students, while columns represent specific course modules (such as anesthesia, pharmacology, mock exams, and practice quizzes). Each cell is color-coded to show status—not started, in progress, completed, or not enrolled—allowing instructors or administrators to quickly compare progress across users and topics. A side information panel displays detailed metrics for a selected student, including overall progress percentage, score, study time, enrollment date, start date, and completion date, highlighting how the matrix supports monitoring engagement, performance, and completion at a glance.Reports center screen showing user progress for VTNE coursework. The top section includes filters to select courses and users by criteria such as average score, progress status, completion, email, username, tags, and registration date. Below, a table lists an individual student with timestamps for registration, last activity, last enrollment, total study time, total platform time, number of courses enrolled, completed, incomplete, certificates earned, and average score. An expanded view displays each VTNE subject area (e.g., anesthesia, animal care and nursing, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, laboratory procedures) with percentage completed, completion status, score, and time spent per course, illustrating how instructors or administrators can monitor detailed learner engagement and performance across topics.

Learning That Scales

All of our chapter content, quizzes and mock exams are based on the AAVSB VTNE® guidelines. Quizzes feature randomized questions so that students can practice as many times as needed, while our mock exam questions remain static and are also repeatable. We also offer level-based questions at the end of each chapter to simulate scaled question difficulties that students will be exposed to on the VTNE®.
Graphic titled “Level-Based Questions” illustrating how VTNE practice questions are organized into three progressive learning levels at CleverOrcaVT. On the left, Level 1: Knowledge shows a basic recall-style multiple-choice question focused on foundational facts, with the correct answer highlighted and brief feedback explaining the concept. In the center, Level 2: Application displays a question that requires applying knowledge to a clinical scenario, such as interpreting lab values, again showing the selected correct answer and explanatory feedback. On the right, Level 3: Critical Thinking presents a more complex, case-based question that integrates multiple concepts and requires clinical reasoning to select the best answer. Arrows visually connect the three levels to emphasize progression from simple recall to advanced decision-making. A side panel shows how topics (e.g., Animal Care and Nursing) are further organized into Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 question sets, reinforcing structured learning. A note highlights that additional true/false questions are included after each chapter to support reinforcement and retention.

Advancing from Knowledge, to Application, to Critical-Thinking

Students build their confidence and reduce overwhelm as they start with easier, knowledge-based questions then advance to application and critical-thinking questions, which are more challenging. These level-based questions reflect the scaled difficulties of similar questions on the VTNE®.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How is CleverOrcaVT different from other exam prep solutions?

We offer a comprehensive full review program, not just a question bank. CleverOrcaVT was developed using educational science, faculty feedback, and input from past VTNE® test-takers. We provide a printed textbook and online/app materials, including pre- and post-assessments, and use science-backed learning techniques to help students learn more effectively. We also give students free extensions until they pass.

2. How can students benefit from this program?

CleverOrcaVT is a full review program - we offer the structure of a course, mobility of an app, and reliability of a physical review book. We designed the program to cater to different learning styles, allow for flexibility, increase accessibility, and reduce overwhelm for learners. We also use science-backed WakeUp Memory™ techniques to help learners retain and memorize information.

3. If we’re already using another program, why should we consider switching to CleverOrcaVT?

Schools are realizing that a quiz bank isn’t enough anymore, especially with rising VTNE® failure rates. Students need to study in a structured way. CleverOrcaVT gives students a clear roadmap from start to finish. With our program, students report feeling organized for the first time, supported by a study plan, progress dashboards, scores, a physical textbook, and more. We offer structure plus content plus accountability using science-backed strategies.

4. Do students need to progress through the chapters in order?

No, students are not locked into a set path. All chapters and quizzes are available at all times, and students should prioritize chapters based on their weakest domains. Students can choose to skip content or just take the quizzes if they want to. The program is fully flexible, designed to adapt to their needs and study style.

5. Do Students get access to explanations and the correct answers?

Yes, all quizzes display the correct answer and an explanation after they submit their response. The mock exam also has an option to check their answer and receive an explanation for each question.

6. How are your chapter quizzes designed?

Our chapter quizzes are fully randomized, so questions change with every attempt. Each section includes quick true/false questions to build recall, followed by end-of-chapter level-based multiple-choice questions that progress from easy to hard. Students get instant feedback with explanations and keywords for every question, plus a final score at the end. Quizzes can be repeated as often as needed, and the latest score is always shown.

7. How are your mock exams designed?

Our mock exam questions stay the same per attempt, and the exam is weighted to the VTNE® domains. Schools get access to three different versions, each with 170 questions, a flag feature, and a 3-hour timer (extended time available by request for accommodations). Students can check answers as they go and see explanations, and they receive a detailed report of their scores across the domains after submitting. Mock exams can be repeated as often as needed, and the latest score is always shown.

8. Can students retake quizzes and the mock exam?

Yes, all quizzes and the mock exam are repeatable. Their latest score will be displayed.

9. If students need an extension, is there an additional cost?

No, everything that they need is included. Students can request a free extension until they pass their exam.

10. Are discounts available for schools looking to purchase for their class or campus?

We are happy to work with schools or independent groups of students to arrange preferred pricing.

11. What do faculty get if they purchase accounts as a school?

If schools purchase the program, we can offer preferred pricing and give some faculty complimentary access to the same content for free. Faculty can access their students’ progress and scores. Schools also receive direct support from our Partnerships & Engagement Manager.

12. What if my school doesn't have the budget for this program, but I want to recommend it to my students?

Reach out to us and let us know that you’d like to share our program with your students. We can offer faculty a discount code upon request.

13. Can students buy the program on their own or does the school have to purchase it?

Students can purchase our program on their own.

14. Can students share accounts?

No, each student needs their own account to properly track their progress and scores. By using the program, students also agree to our terms and conditions.

15. If students buy the program individually, can I still see their progress and scores as their instructor?

No, access to progress and scores of individually purchased student accounts cannot be shared due to privacy reasons.
